This site is dedicated to visual communications. The focus is on what happens in the mind when you interpret something visually? The contrast is reading the written word. In the visual world the slightest variations; color, line, weight, texture, etc. all have meaning. Literature and scholarly papers still have high significance, yet will that be challenged by a generation that is totally reliant on virtual realities? Will the internet change us forever? Are we in a transformation or an evolutionary stage? Will feminism prevail or once again be force to remain in the shadows1?
We all feel the bombardment of too much information. Our digital realities all have subcultures, protocols and behaviors that are divided into communities. This magical world will continue to flourish. It is fascinating to think about how humanity is connecting via digital content. Is this a global consciousness network? Yet, what happens in a world where reality is totally made-up by corporations or high-tech CEOs like Mark Zuckerberg or Jeff Besos? What are the influences to us as humans? Will social media be the writers of our destinies? Will we continue to flourish as humans or something transformative as a society of cyborgs?
The humanities are more important to us than ever before. Follow what you feel in your heart. Seek the truth. That will be the "recurring pattern that pulls you out the maelstrom of disinformation." — Marshall McLuhan
